Volunteering: A Journey to the Heart

Our volunteers help families to focus on what is most important—the health and well-being of their children.  The children and families we serve rely on the support of volunteers to make their days easier.  We welcome volunteers to contribute to a variety of meaningful and important activities every day.

Applicants must complete a simple application and come in for a personal interview to help us determine how we can best utilize their talents.  Volunteers will receive training for their assigned responsibilities and learn about our mission and programs.

Our administrative volunteers assist staff with a variety of office work, including data entry (Raisers Edge and Microsoft Excel), typing acknowledgement letters (Microsoft Word), preparing hand-written donation cards, and filing.

Speakers Bureau

Our Speakers Bureau volunteers represent RMHC New York Metro at schools, corporations, and community events to raise awareness about our mission.  They also lead guided tours for visiting volunteer groups.

Please email volunteerapp@rmhcnym.org if you are interested in receiving a volunteer application for any of these opportunities.
