Annual Gala Raises Essential Funds for Sick Children and Families

Over 250 guests turned out on a beautiful fall evening at the Lannin in East Meadow on October 10, 2024, to support

Celebrating family togetherness

Support for RMHC New York Metro came from our honoree and presenting sponsor, the Petruccelli Family. Major support also came from founding board member, Theresa Brucculeri, Bethpage Federal Credit Union and Stony Brook Children’s. 2024 Gala Committee Chair, Lois Christie of Christie & Co. Salon, introduced the Petruccelli family on the night of the Gala and kicked off a night of celebrating family togetherness.

“We are so thankful to the Petruccelli family, our Gala Committee, and our community of supporters for making this event a success,” said Matt Campo, CEO of RMHC New York Metro. “The funds we raise during Gala will directly support the sick children and families at our Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park and our two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Suffolk County.”

Supporting families throughout the New York Metro region

RMHC New York Metro was founded in 1986 and currently supports over 7,000 families annually by providing them with the care and comfort they need during a pediatric medical crisis. Programs include no-cost accommodations, meals, respite spaces, laundry, transportation services, and 24/7 wrap-around care from a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.

Growing to meet the needs of families

In April 2024, RMHC New York Metro held a ceremonial groundbreaking for a second Ronald McDonald House in Stony Brook. This new House will provide families with 30 private bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, an outdoor playground, playrooms, a fitness center and more. Our organization is still actively raising funds to support the project with plans to open in late-2026. The House will be located near Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and will support families going through a pediatric medical crisis.
